take the living wage for all measures and follow the law. You guys did that so
thank you. My colleague Miss Edwards who spoke through a public comment last week
could not be here because she does not make $30 an hour and has to work as many
hours as possible offered by her employer to attempt to meet her basic
needs for her family. She's a resident Ms. Fife of District 3, a matter of fact,
Acorn Project to be exact. I currently live in District 7 and my job pays me
over $30 an hour. I'm here on my day off to advocate for the people and for the
community. I share this just to remind you guys that the decisions you make have
real-life consequences. Workers in the city of Oakland deserve a living wage.

We're going to meet with you all.
We want to share as much information
as we have with our stakeholders.
As Scott mentioned, we have a coalition of small businesses,
unrepresented workers here in the city of Oakland.
And we want you all to take the time,
study this, so that you can make an informed decision.
Not a decision based on feelings and narratives,
I don't think we're going to
make a decision based on
empirical data.
And so we ask you all to meet
with all stakeholders even folks
that disagree with us.
I think it's important for you
all to meet with everyone.
But at the end we will be
calling on you all to make a
decision about this ordinance.
So that we can avoid the ballot
box and we can avoid a crunch
