Good evening and welcome to the Tuesday November 7th, 2023 special meeting of the Walnut Creek
City Council. We are meeting at 5 p.m. for purposes of a closed session pursuant to
the Brown Act and state law. We are conducting this closed the beginning of this special meeting
to take public communications. At this time I'd also like to announce that there are no council
members seeking to participate in the meeting remotely and we will have a roll call and then
we will take any public comment before convening in closed session. Councilmember Darling? Here.
Councilmember Francois? Here. Mayor Pro Tem Husky? Here. Mayor Silva? Here. And councilmember Wilk
is absent. At this time I will open for public communications under the Brown Act.
Public communications at special meetings must be limited to items on the agenda. Our item on the
agenda for this closed session is to confer with legal counsel regarding existing litigation
related to a workers compensation appeal board case. Is any member of the public here in the
council chambers to give us public comment? Seeing none, I will close public comment and we will
convene in closed session for the closed session.
