4a. Project: Joybound Animal Daycare Building Conditional Use Permit (CUP), Design Review, Tree Removal Permit and Sign Ordinance Exception Application No. Y25-095; Location: 2890 Mitchell Drive APN: 143-040-104

Project Description: The applicant requests Planning Commission consideration of the new 12,577 s.f. Animal Daycare building as an expansion of Joybound’s existing nonprofit Cultural Institution Use and existing facility. The project also includes outdoor animal training and exercise areas, covered dog runs, landscaping, site lighting, additional surface parking, and tree removals. The Planning Commission will consider the following entitlements: • Conditional Use Permit expand existing "Cultural Institution" use • Design Review for construction of the new building (Major Project) • Sign Ordinance Exception - Sign Allowance • Tree Removal Permit -10 trees (Nos. 473, 478, and 482-489) Prior to acting on the project entitlements, the Planning Commission must consider and adopt the Initial Study/Negative Declaration finding that the proposed project would not result in significant environmental effects. Main St., 2nd Floor, Walnut Creek, during regular business hours, Monday - Thursday from 8 am to noon & 1-5 pm. Project Description: The City of Walnut Creek seeks to update its Sign Ordinance (Municipal Code Title 10, Chapter 8). The intent of this project is to:

Appeal Rights: As provided in Part IV, Article 5 of the Walnut Creek Zoning Ordinance, any interested party may appeal a decision of the Planning Commission within ten (10) calendar days after the mailing of the decision by filing a written appeal and the applicable appeal fee(s) with the City Clerk’s Office (if such date falls on a weekend or City holiday, then the deadline shall be extended until the next regular business day). Such written appeal shall specify the name of the person making the appeal, identify the decision being appealed, and state the reason(s) for the appeal. Such appeal must be received by the City Clerk’s Office no later than the close of business on the last day of the appeal period. If you wish to receive a mailing of the Planning Commission’s decision, you must file a written request of such notification with the City Clerk’s Office or the Planning Division in advance of the Planning Commission hearing.
